What should I expect at my paint event?
You can expect to have a talented local artist assist you while you express your personality painting the featured piece of art. Sip your favorite drink, listen to great music, and have a fun night out with friends. At the end of the session you’ll take home the masterpiece that you created yourself!
How do I register for a public paint event?
It’s easy! Choose a painting shown on our calendar that appeals to you most. Click on that graphic to register. Follow the directions on screen, and you’ll receive an emailed confirmation receipt once you have paid via our PayPal portal.
Do I have to pre-register?
We ask that you do. This way, if we need to reschedule an event, we can easily contact you. Also, this will avoid you showing up for a session that is completely booked where we could not accomodate you. Although we may occasionally have “walk-in” seats available, unless you reserve a seat, we can not guarantee that space will be available.
What does it cost?
What forms of payment do you accept?

If you prefer NOT to pay online, please still go through the online registration process, then you may call 267-714-8545 and verbally give us your “Good Faith” credit card number to reserve your spot. This way, you can pay at the door with cash, check or credit card when you arrive.
If you call, please leave a detailed message when you call, including: your name, phone number, which class you want to attend, and how many seats you want to reserve, but PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION on the voice message. We will call you back as soon as possible.
Do you ever share my information with other companies?
No, NEVER. Your right to privacy is very important to us. When you register online, you will be automatically added to our E-mail list. If you choose not to be included, do not respond to the automated email and your account will not be activated.
We will occasionally send promotions, discounts and member-only events to those on our E-mail list.

No paid parking lots or meters here! Hartsville Commons has plenty of FREE parking! There is also additional parking on the gravel lots behind the studio if needed, or park directly on Old York Road and enter Suite B through the courtyard entrance.
Do you offer handicap access?
Yes, there is handicapped parking to the left when you first pull into the parking lot (right past the King of Tarts Bakery).

Please let us know in the COMMENTS section when reserving your event if you require one of these tables.
How long is each paint event?
Events generally run about 2-1/2 to 3 hours from start to finish. Very few paintings run longer than 3 hours.
Plan on arriving up to a half hour early for sign in and to get settled at your workspace.
I’m not a painter!
That’s OK! Honest, there is absolutely NO experience necessary. In fact that’s actually what The Uncorked Artist is all about!
There are no critics here, and we want you to leave your perfectionism at the door. We want this experience to be all about you expressing yourself via a blank canvas. A relaxed attitude and giving yourself permission to express yourself are the two most important steps having a great painting experience!
A local artist is available with interpretations as you step yourself through the entire painting process—you’ll be amazed with the finished masterpiece that YOU create and take home.
Do we need to bring anything with us?
Please bring proper photo ID, other than that just show up and enjoy!
You are encouraged to bring your favorite beverage and any snacks you may enjoy,
We supply everything else.
What should I wear?
Although we have smocks available and all our acrylic paints are water-based, it is very difficult to get paint spills out of clothes. You should wear comfortable clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting paint on just in case.
Do we tip the artist?
While our artists are not exactly “starving,” they do appreciate knowing that you have enjoyed your experience at The Uncorked Artist, and would very much appreciate any tip you deem appropriate! The tip jar is typically located near the snacks next to the refrigerator. The event hostess and artist split any tips after the event.

This experience is all about YOU exploring YOUR individuality.
Is this a serious art class?
No, the Uncorked Artist does not offer serious art instruction, our studio hosts social paint parties. You WILL create your own unique masterpiece, but our events are designed to be lighthearted and fun.
Is this just for beginners?
No, people with all sorts of art backgrounds enjoy public events at The Uncorked Artist.
What size canvas do you use?
Most events use a 16″ x 20″ canvas. And we paint the edges of the canvas, so you don’t have to purchase a frame (unless you want too). Some events use a 12″ x 12″ canvas, clicking on the event should indicate this.
What if I don’t finish my painting?
We plan enough time during the event, but if for some reason you don’t finish and need more studio time, you can come in again for FREE during any Open Studio session (at no extra charge) to finish. There are no artists available during open studio sessions, but all fo our supplies are at your disposal.
Check the calendar for Open Paint Session times.
How long will it take for my painting to dry?
It will feel dry to the touch after about 1/2 hour, but will continue to thoroughly dry over the next few days.
We provide several drying stations where hair dryers are available to help quick-dry your painting.
After it’s dry to the touch, you can carefully handle it by its edges and transport it face up in your car.
Plan to have some newspaper or a plastic trash bag to protect your trunk or backseat for the drive home– just in case!.
Is there an age requirement for public paint events?
While there is no minimum age requirement, we do ask you to use good judgement. Our evening sessions are intended for adults. Young adults 13-17 can attend IF accompanied by a paying adult.
Children 12 and under are encouraged to attend our Family Sessions, and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The parent/guardian does not need to reserve a seat for him/herself, but we think you will enjoy the painting experience also!
How often do you update your calendar?
New paintings and event schedules are posted on a rolling basis. Check back often!
I missed a painting that I really want to paint! Do you ever repeat paintings?
You bet! If there is a specific painting that you would like to see again, please let us know by emailing Tara@TheUncorkedArtist.com. We will keep this in mind when scheduling future paintings.
You can also like our Facebook page and easily make painting requests on our page.
What are your FUNdraisers?
We strongly believe in giving back to our community.
We think that creating works of art while raising money for a great cause is an amazing combination!
We hold charitable event fundraisers often.
During our FUNdraising events, everyone can sign-up through our calendar as usual, but on these special sessions, we donate a portion of the event fee (usually between $5.00 to $20.00 per person) to the selected charity.
Anyone can attend these events, you do NOT need to be affiliated with the specific charitable group to attend.
Help us give back to the community—visit the FUNdraising page and send us a request to host an event.
How do I register for a private party?
Private parties should be reserved at least 1-2 months ahead of time, but can be scheduled many months ahead. Register for a private party by filling out the request form on our Private Party page, telling us your desired date and time. We will check availability and get back to you.
Feel free to contact us even if there is a scheduled painting session on the calendar for the day you want—if no one has registered for that paint session yet, we’ll book your party instead.
