I’m not a painter!
That’s OK! Honest, there is absolutely NO experience necessary. In fact that’s actually what The Uncorked Artist is all about!
There are no critics here, and we want you to leave your perfectionism at the door. We want this experience to be all about you expressing yourself via a blank canvas. A relaxed attitude and giving yourself permission to express yourself are the two most important steps having a great painting experience!
A local artist is available with interpretations as you step yourself through the entire painting process—you’ll be amazed with the finished masterpiece that YOU create and take home.
Do we need to bring anything with us?
Please bring proper photo ID, other than that just show up and enjoy!
You are encouraged to bring your favorite beverage and any snacks you may enjoy,
We supply everything else.
What should I wear?
Although we have smocks available and all our acrylic paints are water-based, it is very difficult to get paint spills out of clothes. You should wear comfortable clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting paint on just in case.
Do we tip the artist?
While our artists are not exactly “starving,” they do appreciate knowing that you have enjoyed your experience at The Uncorked Artist, and would very much appreciate any tip you deem appropriate! No, people with all sorts of art backgrounds enjoy public events at The Uncorked Artist.
What size canvas do you use?
Most events use a 16″ x 20″ canvas. And we paint the edges of the canvas, so you don’t have to purchase a frame (unless you want too). Some events use a 12″ x 12″ canvas, clicking on the event should indicate this.
What if I don’t finish my painting?
We plan enough time during the event, but if for some reason you don’t finish and need more studio time, you can come in again for FREE during any Open Studio session (at no extra charge) to finish. Check the calendar for Open Paint Session times.
How long will it take for my painting to dry?
It will feel dry to the touch after about 1/2 hour, but will continue to thoroughly dry over the next few days.
We provide several drying stations where hair dryers are available to help quick-dry your painting.
After it’s dry to the touch, you can carefully handle it by its edges and transport it face up in your car.
Plan to have some newspaper or a plastic trash bag to protect your trunk or backseat for the drive home– just in case!.

What are your FUNdraisers?
We strongly believe in giving back to our community.
We think that creating works of art while raising money for a great cause is an amazing combination!
We hold charitable event fundraisers often.
During our FUNdraising events, everyone can sign-up through our calendar as usual, but on these special sessions, we donate a portion of the event fee (usually between $5.00 to $20.00 per person) to the selected charity.
Anyone can attend these events, you do NOT need to be affiliated with the specific charitable group to attend.
Help us give back to the community—visit the FUNdraising page and send us a request to host an event.
How do I register for a private party?
Private parties should be reserved at least 1-2 months ahead of time, but can be scheduled many months ahead. Register for a private party by filling out the request form on our Private Party page, telling us your desired date and time. We will check availability and get back to you.
Feel free to contact us even if there is a scheduled painting session on the calendar for the day you want—if no one has registered for that paint session yet, we’ll book your party instead.
